The Village Hall Paper and Bottle Re-Cycling 'Banks':
At the July 2008 Parish Council meeting, the subject of re-cycling was discussed, and the question was asked whether Bentley received any benefit from the paper and bottle banks located in the village hall car park. The answer is most definitely yes we do, as for a number of years, Babergh District Council has passed on regular re-cycling credits to the village hall for the general benefit of the Bentley Community.
The village hall receives no grant from the Parish Council towards the general hall upkeep or its running costs. These are paid for by the hire fees and by the re-cycling credits received. The latter play a very significant role in the village hall income and without which the hire fees would be at least 15% higher.
So well done everybody and please keep the empty bottles and news papers coming. It's a great credit to you all for your re-cycling efforts which benefits the entire village community!
