TUESDAY CLUB REPORT - (October 2008):
During October we have been entertained by Dennis Maisey who sang and played the `ukulele` - a most enjoyable afternoon. Fifty members and residents took advantage of having their flu jab at the village hall. In addition, Carol brought along her display of silk flowers and toys for sale, and cards and scrabble were played.
November 11th Malcolm Clarke is talking to us on `Birds`, and on November 25th we will be attempting to make cards with the expert help of Linda Bloomfield. Do come and join us – meetings commence at 2 p.m. in Bentley Village Hall.
TUESDAY CLUB REPORT - (September 2008):
The Club continues to flourish and since the last report we have welcomed three new members.
At our first meeting in September, we were entertained by Sue Lambert from Capel Methodist Church, with singing and stories.
On the 16th September we travelled to Clacton for our last summer outing, 43 members and friends enjoyed lunch at the Esplanade Hotel, after which some enjoyed a walk along the promenade and pier, some went shopping, and the remainder relaxed in the hotel lounge where musical entertainment had been laid on. After afternoon tea and the draw, we returned home - a good day, and the sun shone!
The programme for the next two months is varied and includes a talk and slides on the subject of Birds, Making Cards, Display of Silk Flowers and Toys, and an Entertainer.
Our year concludes in December with our traditional Christmas Lunch at `The Bramford Cock`, and then our own Christmas Party in the village hall.
TUESDAY CLUB REPORT - (July 2008)
The Club has had a very busy calendar of events since the last issue.
1) The first Summer outing was a cruise from Waldringfield to Felixstowe, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all – especially the afternoon tea which was served on board.
2) In June, members and friends went to see the `Company of Four` production of `Let us Entertain You`, which everybody thought was a really brilliant evening of dance, song, and comedy sketches.
3) July saw our annual outing to Dunwich for a fish and chip lunch, and then to Southwold where a number from our party indulged themselves with a cream tea on the pier!
