HOW TO CHECK  if your TELEVISION, VIDEO or DVD Remote control is working: The  'Infra Red' LED (Light Emitting Diode) in the end you point to the TV etc. actually flashes to send information however it is outside the visible spectrum for our eyes.  To check if it is flashing you will need a Digital Camera with a screen at the back.  Turn on a digital camera and look at the display on the back  - point the LED end of the remote control at the camera lens and press any button on the remote control - a flashing light will appear if the remote control is working.  If there are no flashes of light on the camera screen change the batteries in the remote control and try again.  If there are still no flashes try another remote control - if this flashes OK then the one that doesn't flash may be faulty and will need to be checked further.
